"Should large companies like Wal Mart be forced to unionize?"
Original Opinion by ispep (33)
I understand they give out many jobs and are able to keep prices low. However are the employees treated fairly? Should they be unionized?

Why should they? You can't really force a company to unionize? That's an organized employee activity, if the employees choose to, they should unionize. If they don't, which it's apparent that most of them haven't, then it's just their fault.

That's up to the employer and the employees.

Unions had their golden age when employers ran roughshod over the employee base. But those times are over.
Walmart has made it a practice to keep prices low. That is, unless they unionize and that will be that. The prices will be forced higher to pay for the inevitable union interference. Unions are a scourge on this country for the past 30 years. Almost any company that is union is in trouble.

Unions served a purpose at one time. They are not needed now. If your employer is treating you poorly start looking for another job.

They should not be forced to unionize. There are laws protecting wage-earners now, and unions would drive up prices, causing more inflation. And the last thing we want now is inflation, since wages don't normally rise with the rise of prices.
But if everyone had that idea of looking for jobs because of poor treatment, we wouldn't get anywhere. People would lose jobs to outsourcing, and our unemployment rate in America will soar.

I have worked in union and non-union shops. The union I was in bent over backwards for the company when times got tough. I'll be willing to bet that the majority of people who are against unions have NEVER been in one. For the most part they are NOT the monsters people say the are. It would make no sense to bite the hand the feeds you.

but i think corparation like walmart should have unions because in order for companies to suceced there needs to be a balance between mangement and workers and right now it seems abit one sided on mangement plus walmart could due with a little less competiveness as it draws it advantage form outsourced prodects and monopilization
