"Should America expand free trade treaties?"
Original Opinion by Teddyroosevelt (45)
Recently president obama has purposed a plan he hopes will stimulate the economy by creating free trade treaties with new nations one of them being Vietnam now I have nothing against the Vietnamese and am a supporter of free trade but I have to question how well is this going to work of course at first obama will be right in that America will benefit from the export of machinery or what ever it is they import but in the long term wont we be loseing from this when an already profitable outsourceing system becomes that much more profitable and from the perspective of Vietnam won't there native industry what they have be hurt by American competion plus I am not proud in seeing a mac Donalds and wallmart all over the world.

"This was not Obama's idea" by ronc994 (13)
Bush was trying to do this for years, but the Democrats refused. He has had it on his desk since he was elected, but brings it out now like it is his idea. Free trade is a good thing if it is done right. I bring something to you, you send something to me. That is free trade. But what has happened is a one way street. Only Canada actually trades freely with the US. All the other countries have tarriffs on the US goods, while sneaking their products in the country at half the price.
