"Is it time to end Political Correctness?"

After the huge controversy with Juan Williams and the NPR firing, is it time the American people stop with the political correctness? Is it time that we stand up for what is actually true and stop worrying about who we are offending?

Part of me wants to say yes, but I'm not sure if we should end it 100% because part of it is simply holding some good old social conventions like being civil with each other which I'm all for. But I have found myself saying several times that political correctness has gotten a bit overboard.
