"Dream Act?"
Original Opinion by ispep (39)
As we know, the dream act failed to pass in the 111th Congress. However, I ask, was this a good thing?
For anyone who did not know what the Dream Act was, here is what the bill was supposed to do:
DREAM Act and College Education - Korean Resource Center
The DREAM Act is a piece of legislation that would grant U.S. citizenship to illegal students who successfully complete two years of a bachelor's degree.

as a result of this not passing my good friend shayne has lost a chance at citizenship. guess the government just can't support those damn canadian immigrants.
"Good." by Vultren (126)
To counter what Gaelin has said, it is unfortunate your friend has lost his chance with this bill. However, if he waits and goes through the American system the correct way to get permanent resident status, he can get his citizenship without amnesty as this is what the bill supported.
"Very Good" by TonyRobinson (10)
If you are here illegally you should not have any rights so they should not get any college as they were obtained illegally. Legal citizenship I support but illegals are are here illegally and criminals.
The "dream act" is disrespectful to legal immigrants who obey the laws. Amnesty is a way of telling people we wish to reward you with instant citizenship although you broke our laws to be here.
"Very Bad" by Gaelin (136)
The amnesty in this bill was not to reward people for breaking the law, it is to reward people for working to become educated members of society. And unless your ancestors got permission from the local tribes to settle in America than they were criminals too under your definition.
